WORKSHOP PRESENTERS


 

The presenters are practising Bates teachers who have many years of experience both as teachers and trainers of teachers.


 

They are also directors of the College of Vision Education which trains teachers of the Bates Method of Vision Education.


 

They are both members of the Bates Association for Vision Education (BAVE) and the Association of Vision Educators (AVE).


Aileen Whiteford

 

Aileen is a graduate of the School of Vision Education and later became an Associate teacher with the School, working both with students and helping to develop course material.


 

She has build up several successful practices in Edinburgh, East Lothian and London.


 

As well as running workshops for natural eyesight Aileen also offers courses in therapeutic communication and counselling.


 

Aileen has lead Bates Method workshops at Meir Schneider's School of Self-Healing in California. She has also presented at the 17th International Conference of Holistic Vision in Paris and at the 2nd Natural Eyesight Vision Conference in San Francisco.


 

Aileen is co-organising, presenting and giving workshops at the first British Natural Eyesight Conference to be held near London in October 2008.


Margaret Montgomery

 

Margaret became interested in the Bates Method studying with the late Miss Evelyn B. Sage and then becoming a Bates Teacher in 1985.


 

In 1991 Margaret assisted Peter Mansfield (author of the 'Bates Method') at the Bates College which later became the 'School of Vision Education' until the School was moved to the South of England in 2001. She helped to develop material for the College course manual. Margaret has helped to train most of the current teachers on the Bates Association for Vision Education (BAVE) Teachers register.


 

Margaret is a founder member of both the Bates Association for Vision Education and the Association of Vision Educators (AVE). She is the current publicity officer for BAVE.


 

As well as giving talks and workshops, Margaret has several private client practices in London, home counties and southwest of England (www.aspectsofvision.com) and also co-ordinates the Bates Vision Clinic a low cost lesson option for those on low income held in Finchley N3 (www.batesvisionclinic/org).


 

Margaret is a co-organiser of the first British Natural Eyesight Conference to be held in October 2008.
